Ms. Kathy's Room...(The Ocean Room)

Ms. Kathy...Assistant Preschool Director/Teacher

After finding QI Montessori for her son when he was 2, Ms. Kathy developed a love for The Montessori Method. Professionally, Ms. Kathy was an event and wedding planner in the AZ private country club industry before staying home to raise her son. After 4 years as a stay at home mother, she decided The Montessori Method was a compelling reason for a career change from event and wedding planner to teacher. Upon completing her Montessori training in Las Vegas, she became the lead teacher in the Ocean Room. Ms. Kathy is currently starting her 4th year at QI Montessori. Ms. Kathy has been married to her husband Paul for 13 years and has one son, Brandon.

Ms. Kathy's views on what benefits a Montessori education offers a child...

"I believe a Montessori education benefits children in many ways. A Montessori education addresses the whole child: his physical, social, emotion and cognitive growth. As both a parent of a Montessori student and a teacher, one of the most important benefits is that a Montessori education recognizes is that children learn in different ways, and accommodates all learning styles. Students are also free to learn at their own pace, each advancing through the curriculum as he is ready, guided by the teacher and an individualized learning plan. It is through this freedom that the child will develop a lifelong love of learning. - Ms. Kathy

"Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world." Maria Montessori

Why Ms. Kendra thinks Montessori preschools are important to the development of a child…

"I believe that a Montessori Preschool education is important because it is about the child, first and foremost. It is a philosophy that respects the unique individuality of each child. Dr. Montessori believed in the value and importance of children. Her method does not compare a child to norms or standards that are measured by traditional educational systems. It is founded on the belief that children should be free to succeed and learn without restriction or criticism. The main concept of Montessori is to promote the joy of learning. This joy of learning develops a well adjusted person who has a purpose and direction in his or her life. Children, who experience the joy of learning, are happy, confident, fulfilled children. In essence, Montessori helps bring forth the gift of each child." - Ms. Kendra
